These Are The Days!

Time flies when you are having fun! I worry everyday that I will forget the precious moments that I share with my family, so I have decided that I need to do a better job capturing those memories. My sweet babies are growing so fast and I not only want to remember them as babies, but watch them grow into the amazing people they are!

Reflecting and Refocusing

As I sit on my front porch this morning reading the Word, spending time with God, it is so evident that He is here! A baby deer, cardinal, and squirrel joined me as we listened to the rain. As Joyce Meyer says, we can’t have a positive life and a negative mind. Our thoughts, our focus, is what determines where we end up. These beautiful creatures are helping me start my day with focus on Him!

Mother's Day

It wasn't quite the same, but we were grateful for the opportunity to gather together and celebrate Mother's Day this year.  We met at Gristmill in Gruene and enjoyed some time outside taking pictures before we ate.  I am so thankful for my mom and for the children that call me mom.  What a blessing it is to be a part of such a beautiful, wonderful family.

Never Stop Training

We may not be able to go to regular practices and trainings, but that doesn't stop the Diamond kids.  Carson has been MAKING 500 shots a day, videoing himself, and sending it to DJ for coaching feedback.  Kennedi does daily volleyball training virtually or on her own.  She has done a little sand practice at her coach's house too. Cade has been running in the neighborhood and playing catch outside every chance he gets.  Brent Holmes, our speed and agility coach, has been coming out to the house twice a week to train the kids and keep them in shape.  Two other families have joined the fun!  We have been grateful for his training sessions even when we can't go to the gym.  When this is all over, the Diamond kids will be ready to go!

April - A Month of Quarantine

When life deals you lemons, you make lemonade.  COVID-19 has shut down the country.  Club volleyball has come to a close.  Basketball is limited to virtual training.  Little league baseball is on hold.  Without sports, our family schedule has changed DRASTICALLY.  As much as we miss all the practices and games, we have utilized the time to breathe and enjoy quality family time.  I guess God knows what you need sometimes.  It has really helped our family to remember our priorities.  We are cooking dinner every night and sitting at the table together.  The kids are riding bikes in the afternoons while Jason and I enjoy the front porch.  We play cornhole at night in the carport.  We have heated the pool so the kids could swim during the day.  We completed a 2000 piece puzzle and we occasionally run out for a Sonic run!  I'm ready for the chaotic life we love to return, but for right now I am loving the slower pace and time with the people I love most!

Happy 15th Birthday Carson!

This crazy smart, athletic, sensitive, sweet boy of ours is 15!  I can. not. believe. it.  Carson is the definition of perseverance and dedication.  He has a heart of gold and is the best big brother around.  We love you so much Carson!

QUARANTINE

The COVID-19 pandemic has hit the United States and put the entire country in a tailspin.  The kids got out for Spring Break and were looking for a week of fun and relaxation.  Little did they know, they would not be going back to school.  The local and state government are closing restaurants and other public venues.  The goal is to limit crowds and exposures to hopefully reduce the spread of the virus and not overwhelm hospitals with critically ill patients.  There are lots of unknowns about the disease.  For now, we wear masks, wash hands, and stay in as much as possible. Sports have been stopped, which is huge in our family.  Jason and I are still working, but the kids are hanging out at home.  We are trying to make the most of this time by getting creative and enjoying some quality family time!  Monopoly, target practice, swimming, and driving practice are just a few of the activities we have done to pass the time!
