We started planning this once in a lifetime vacation in February. We carefully selected the perfect resort on the property - Port Orleans Riverside. We made flight arrangements and were so excited when our magic bands came in the mail! The entire trip was scripted. From the travel arrangements to the meal plans and the fast passes, we were set for an amazing week at Disney World!
The best part of the entire trip is that the Kristy, John and Chayse got to join us as well as the Williams - Wendi, Brad, Cooper, and Kati! Our 3 families had so much fun together! It was definitely a vacation that I will never forget and I hope the kids don't either!
DAY 1
We left on Sunday, June 8th. The kids were excited to fly. They were all set with their backpacks and games. They did great! We arrived at Port Orleans Riverside and settled in before we headed out for our first planned meal. Dinner that night was at 1900 Park Fair in the Grand Floridian. We took the shuttle to Magic Kingdom and rode the monorail over to the Grand Floridian. The meal was great, but the entertainment was the best! Cinderella was there with Prince Charming, the Stepmother, and Stepsisters. Each of them came to visit our table and chat with the kids. The red-headed step sister took a liking to Carson. She teased him and loved on him. She asked him to marry her and wouldn't take no for an answer! The entire scene was so funny, but not to Carson of course! It was a great first day!
DAY 2 - MAGIC KINGDOM
On the second day we headed to the famous Magic Kingdom. We had 3 fast passes set so we worked our way thru the park to ride those rides at the specified time. In between, we rode several other rides and enjoyed checking out the park. By the end of the day we were exhausted! But, we had dinner planned at the park and couldn't cancel our reservations. We were so glad we didn't! The food was amazing and we finished just in time to watch the electrical parade. It was a very fun, very tiring day. We all crashed that night with a smile on our face!
DAY 3 - ANIMAL KINGDOM
Tuesday might have been our favorite day! At Animal Kingdom we got to spend most of the day with the Williams and were able to catch up with the Wilsons too. We had lunch at Rainforest Café, did the Safari, saw Lion King, and rode several rides. Carson got to ride Expedition Everest several times and says that was his all time favorite for the trip! It rained some, but we put on our ponchos and kept going. Another really fun day on the books!
DAY 4 - EPCOT
Wednesday we ventured to Epcot. By this day we were pretty worn out. However, we still enjoyed the rides and several shows. After the downpour, we toured the countries and tried to teach the kids a little culture! Epcot was fun, but we headed out a little early to enjoy the pool at our resort. However, it proceeded to rain a little more, so we ended up ordering pizza and eating in the cabana by the pool! The kids had a blast playing together and the adults enjoyed visiting. It was a good day, and slightly more low key than the rest...maybe?!
DAY 5 -HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS
On Thursday we went to Hollywood studios. We slept in and went later in the day. Although, we didn't ride too many things, we got to stay late and watch the Fantasia Show! Again, we had a lot of fun with all of our friends!
DAY 6
On our last full day at Disney World, Jason, John, and Brad went fishing. The kids and I were going to go swimming, but it rained again. Instead, we had a late breakfast and relaxed a little in the room. When the guys got back, we took the ferry from our hotel to Downtown Disney. There, we did a little shopping and ate at Planet Hollywood. After dinner, we headed back over to Magic Kingdom (around 8 p.m.) and re-rode some of our favorite rides. We caught the firework show behind the castle for our finale at Disney World. Late that night we headed back to our rooms for the last time. We smiled and laughed about the great week we had! I couldn't have been more happy that we were able to spend this time with our family and friends. It was truly magical!
