These Are The Days!

Time flies when you are having fun! I worry everyday that I will forget the precious moments that I share with my family, so I have decided that I need to do a better job capturing those memories. My sweet babies are growing so fast and I not only want to remember them as babies, but watch them grow into the amazing people they are!

Dora and Diego Birthday Party!

Well, I don't know how long I am going to get away with it, but I did this year!  We combined Cade's 1st birthday (1/7) and Kennedi's 3rd birthday (1/31) into one big birthday party this weekend!  Jason and I rented  the community center and decorated Dora and Diego style!  We had about 40 friends and family there.  Everyone had a great time!  I can't believe my babies are growing up so fast!  Here are some of my favorite pictures from the day...

We started the party with a Dora movie!  Thanks for letting us borrow your projector Trae and Bethany!

Follow up

For those of you that follow the blog, I just realized that I left you hanging with Cade's hospitalization.  In fact, we were discharged Saturday night at 7:00 p.m.  Since then we have been doing nebulizer treatments and inhaled steroid.  He also completed 4 days of oral steroids.  Cade seems to be feeling much better!  At first he wasn't sleeping well and a little irritable, but I attribute that to all the steroids.  Now, he is back to sleeping all night and being my happy baby!

Today I took him to the pediatrician for his follow up.  His pulse O2 was 99.  She still heard a little bit of wheezing, but overall he is much improved.  We are going to continue the treatments for one more week and next Friday I will take him back for his 1 year immunizations.  Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers!

Sick Baby :(

Well, yesterday Cade was admitted to North Central Baptist hospital for wheezing.  This is how it all started.  On Wednesday  I took him to the Dr. for his 1 year well check up.  I knew he sounded bad, but Cade has always had chest congestion issues.  I figured we would just start nebulizer treatments again.  Well, Dr. Gunsberg didn't like how he sounded at all.  She made us do 2 treatments in her office.  After the second one, he started sounding better.  She sent us home on nebulizer treatments every 3-4 hours and oral steroid.

On Friday we went back to see Dr. Gunsberg for a follow up.  He was sounding a little better to me, but had been cranky and I could tell he was still wheezing.  At the office his oxygen saturations were 92-93.  The Dr was concerned that when he went to sleep they would go even lower and it could be a problem.  She sent us to the ER for possible suction and evaluation.  We got to the ER at 10:00 a.m.

At the ER we did an hour long nebulizer treatment and started on higher dose oral steroids.  He tested negative for RSV and pneumonia.  He began to sound a little better, but the doctor felt like he needed treatments every other hour and was still a little concerned that his O2 sats would go down when  he slept.  We finally got a room at 5:00 p.m.

Last night we did treatments every other hour. He did great!  Cade crashed out around 7:30 p.m. and slept through all of them.  I didn't.  At the 2:00 a.m. treatment, the respiratory therapist said that he no longer heard any wheezing.  His O2 sats were 96 or higher all night.  This morning the orders have already changed to treatments every 3 hours.  He has not been wheezing, his O2 sats have been good and he didn't need oxygen at any time.

Right now we are waiting to see the Dr.  Hopefully we will get to go home this afternoon.

Happy Anniversary!

Yesterday Jason and I celebrated 9 years of marriage!  What a wonderful 9 years it has been!  We got married on Jan. 5, 2002 in Smithville.  It was a very cold and rainy day.  However, the ceremony was BEAUTIFUL.  Some of our best friends in the world stood beside us on that day.  Afterwards, we celebrated with a GORGEOUS reception, complete with a BBQ dinner, live band, dancing, and lots of fun!  It truly was one of the best days of my life.  It was that day that I married my best friend, my soul mate.

In 2003 I graduated from pharmacy school and we settled into our first home.  In 2004 we both worked full time and were able to pay off school debt and furnish our home.  In 2005 we brought our first child into the world - Carson Travis.  What a gift from God!  In 2006 we moved into our current home in effort to have more room for our growing family.  In 2007 we enjoyed our toddler and we found out we were expecting little Miss Kennedi.  In 2008, K made her grand entrance and our lives got even more exciting!  In 2009 I changed jobs and we began to get really comfortable in our sweet family, just in time to find our I was pregnant...again!  In 2010, baby Cade blessed our lives!

I cannot wait to see what our future holds.  Jason and I compliment each other so well.  He encourages me to slow down and enjoy life.  I help him to not procrastinate so that things get done!  Together we love our little family so much.  We laugh together, we cry together, we dream together, and we pray together.  I love you Jason!

New Year's Eve

What a year 2010 was!  We had a new addition to our family - Cade Bradley, survived the poor economic times, watched our oldest child start kindergarten, and witnessed our daughter turn into a beautiful, sassy, little girl!!  Yesterday, our good friends Trae and Bethany, along with their kids, Bekah and Avery, came to ring in the new year with us.  We made a big dinner, then played (aka wrestled with the kids) for awhile, then broke out the wii for some family fun!  After the kids crashed, the 4 of us tried our hands at the Kinect that Jason got for Christmas!  We all crashed shortly after midnight, but I think it is safe to say we all had a great time!!

New Years Resolutions

Ok - I am putting my New Year's Resolutions on this blog only for accountability.  I am holding myself to these goals and will check back on my progress mid year.  Here goes...

1.  Lose that last 10 pounds, for good!!  I know that is on everyone's list, but I have been hanging on to 10 pounds since I had Cade.  Losing it would put me where I was the day I got married and that would make me very happy!!

2.  Catch up on my scrapbooking.  I made good progress towards the end of 2010, but I am going to make it a priority to finish the kids books.  It is something I enjoy doing and it is something the kids can look back on one day and smile.

3.  Work less - not necessarily less hours, but I want to spend less time working (home and pharmacy) and more quality time with my beautiful family.  It is time to stop stressing over the details and start focusing on what is most important and that is my husband and my 3 kiddos!

4.  Teach my kids humility.  2011 is going to be a year that my kids truley learn to be grateful and appreciative.  Humbleness will abound in our home.

5.  Pray more.  I love the Lord, and I am going to strive to be a better servant of Him.  Not only am I going to do more personal devotion time, but I am going to make sure my kidsdo the same.

It's going to be another great year!  Life is good!
