These Are The Days!

Time flies when you are having fun! I worry everyday that I will forget the precious moments that I share with my family, so I have decided that I need to do a better job capturing those memories. My sweet babies are growing so fast and I not only want to remember them as babies, but watch them grow into the amazing people they are!

Easter 2017

He is Risen!  Love this time of year to celebrate new life!  The Easter bunny came with water guns and pool toys, then the kids enjoyed an egg hunt at church.  Finally, the extended family joined us for a great lunch and egg hunt at home.  Beautiful day!

Carson's Confirmation

Today Carson was Confirmed at Bulverde United Methodist Church.  I am so proud of the faithful young man he is.  He attended confirmation class for several months to learn about the church and what it means to be committed to God.  We are so grateful for his decision to follow the Lord!

It is also Palm Sunday and the littles got to parade around the church with their palm leaves.  It was a great Sunday!

Bucks Basketball

This spring, Carson joined another basketball team to get a little extra playing team.  It was a group of boys he goes to middle school with. They trained 2 days a week and played in 2 tournaments a month.  It was great coaching and great playing time.  Carson grew on the court as a leader.  The goal was for him to gain confidence and play a season with kids his own age, so he could realize how good he really his.  During this time he continued to play with SFS.  We played a ton of basketball in a short time, but the goal was accomplished.  Carson loves this game  and we are going to do everything we can to give him the tools to succeed!

Witte Field Trip

Today I got to go with the 3rd grade on their field trip to the Witte!  It was so much fun to hang out with Kennedi and her friends!  I loved watching her climb the rock wall.  We had a blast!

Basketball Showcase

Kennedi was selected from her school to participate in the Comal Art Showcase.  She and her group practiced after school and perfected a basketball ball handling routine.  They performed at Smithson Valley High School.  They did a great job!  Way to go K!

Carson's Feet

With all the basketball and growing that Carson has been doing, his feet have really been bothering him.  Carson is flat footed like Jason.  He has no arch at all. After a tournament where he plays 3 games or a long hard practice, his feet are in quite a bit of pain.  I took him to a orthopedic surgeon for advice and he said that  Carson could benefit from surgery.  Basically they would remove an extra bone he has in his foot, add a cadaver bone on the outside of his foot, and lengthen his Achilles.  The surgery would put him in a cast for 3 months on each foot.  This would mean 6 months to a year out of sports.  So, after much thought and consideration we decided to wait on the surgery, but try physical therapy first.  We took him to 8 weeks of physical therapy and had custom orthotics made.  So far it seems to be working!  His feet are in much less pain.  Hopefully we can avoid surgery by doing things like PT or Arriosti.  We will take it one day at a time, nurse those feet, and do what we can to make sure he can still play basketball with little to no pain!
