These Are The Days!

Time flies when you are having fun! I worry everyday that I will forget the precious moments that I share with my family, so I have decided that I need to do a better job capturing those memories. My sweet babies are growing so fast and I not only want to remember them as babies, but watch them grow into the amazing people they are!

Bus Ride

Ok - we have had a lot going on in the past few weeks, but I had no idea how hard it would be to put my child on the yellow school bus for the first time.  Jason and I both took him to school the first day.  Then, Jason began taking him to school on his way to work in the mornings.  We had watched the bus pass our house and Carson had asked when he could ride it, but I thought we would put that off for awhile.  Well, Friday Jason had a meeting at 7:30 a.m. and I didn't want to get the babies up so early (I don't have to leave until 8:30 a.m. with them), so we decided to try out the bus.  I walked Carson down the street (only 2 driveways down) and we waited.  He was excited, but my anxiety grew.  When the bus got there, I introduced Carson to the bus driver.  Before I knew it, he was on the bus and blended in with all the other kids.  It happened so fast!  I felt like I didn't even get to say goodbye.  I wanted to stand in the front of the bus and yell, "I love you Carson, have a great day!", but I knew better.  The bus drove off and the tears began to flow.  I called Jason as I walked back to our front door and sobbed.  Was he going to be okay?  Would he know where to go?  Would he meet new friends?  All day long I thought of him.  I talked myself out of calling the school to make sure he got there, because I knew they would call me if he didn't show.  Finally, at the end of the day, I picked him up from Rainbow Station and was able to ask about THE bus ride.  He was all smiles!  It turns out, his friend that sits beside him in class was on the bus and they found each other quickly.  He lived!  And I did too!  I guess Carson will be riding the bus from now on, but hopefully it will get easier and easier on mom!!

1st day of 1st grade!

So, Wednesday through Friday we moved frantically.  Saturday and Sunday we waded through boxes and attempted to get the house in semi-functioning condition.  Monday my baby started 1st grade!

Carson is in 1st grade at the brand new Kinder Ranch Elementary.  It's nice, because he is not the only new kid, everyone is new!  We met his teacher the Thursday before.  Her name is Mrs. Easterling and we are exited about what the new year will bring!  The school is beautiful and because it is brand new, it has relatively low enrollment this year.  Carson is one of 17 in his class and there are only 4 first grade classes.  I am sure he will excel again this year.  I just can't believe how fast time is going by!!!

27926 Copper Crest

Whew!  We did it!  We are finally settled in our new home.  Well, I wouldn't say "settled", more like "living" in our new home.  It truley is everything Jason and I have been looking for.  The pool is definitely the biggest attraction.  The kids are having a blast swimming and the way it looks, we are going to have a few more months of hot weather for them to enjoy it!  The large lot also gives the kids lots of room to run and play.  Our lot is not slopped like our other one was, so the kids are finally going to be able to ride their bikes and play basketball on the driveway!

I find myself feeling guilty.  I really don't know what I did to deserve such a beautiful life.  I love my family so much and  I love the fact that we are able to give them such a wonderful place to grow up.  I just want to make sure that they know how blessed we are.  I want to teach them that not everyone has all the luxuries that they do.  I want them to be grateful and humble.

This is a PREVIEW of how the move started!

1st Field Trip

Yesterday was Kennedi's first field trip!  I don't think I have ever seen her so excited!  She was giddy with glee!  On Wednesday we got her Rainbow Station shirt.  She had the biggest smile on her face when she tried it on.  For 3 years now she has watched Carson go on field trips and finally she was big enough to go on one herself!

Kennedi's class was going to Pump it Up.  The loaded all 21 kids into the van and headed over there.  Unfortunately, the organizer did not show.  The doors were locked.  Rainbow Statin does a lot of business with Pump It Up, but for some reason this playdate did not get confirmed and was lost in the shuffle.  The kids were sad, but according to the teacher's they handled it very well!  The kids went back to RS and they ordered pizza for everyone to ease the disappointment.

So, unfortunately, Kennedi's first field trip was a bust.  But, they get to go again next week!  She was a trooper.  I think she was so happy to wear the shirt and ride in the van, that it didn't phase her too much not to get to play.  We'll try again on Tuesday!
