These Are The Days!

Time flies when you are having fun! I worry everyday that I will forget the precious moments that I share with my family, so I have decided that I need to do a better job capturing those memories. My sweet babies are growing so fast and I not only want to remember them as babies, but watch them grow into the amazing people they are!

Rise of the Guardians

Chayse got to stay a few days with us over the Thanksgiving break.  We treated the kids to a 3D movie, Rise of the Guardians.  All 4 kids sat still the entire movie and really enjoyed it.  Fun cousin time!

Happy Thanksgiving

Our family has been so blessed time and time again.  This morning after I had swept and mopped the floor, made a broccoli/cheese casserole, cleaned upstairs, and several other chores, I took just a few minutes to sit on the back porch.  The dew was still glistening on the grass.  There were red, yellow, and brown leaves on the trees.  The waterfall in the background created the most peaceful sound to compliment the perfect scenery.  It was only about 10 minutes, but I truley embraced the magnitude of our God and how Amazing my life is.  I am so Thankful for Him and His promise to me.  I am so, so thankful for my husband that is my best friend and my soul mate.  My children, Carson, Kennedi, and Cade are my world.  I am ever so grateful for my parents that are my heros.  And, I have a long list of extended family that I am so blessed with.  God is Good.  I do not know what I did to deserve such fate, but I humbly fall on my knees every day in Thanksgiving!

Tball - Last game!

Kennedi had a great season of t-ball this fall.  She had a blast out there and learned so much!  I am so thankful for these days of sports with my kiddos!

End of the Season

Well, our first football season has come to an end.  I must say, it was a lot of fun, a learning experience, and exhausting all at the same time.  Over the past 12 weeks, we have cried with Carson after tough practices, we have celebrated with Carson after great hits, we have agonized over not winning any games, and we have had long talks as a family about commitment, playing hard, not giving up, and having fun every single game.  Emotions have been all over the scale this season.  Carson's team practiced 3 nights a week, which is extremely difficult for 2 working parents and 2 younger siblings.  Thank goodness for grandmother!  Without her we could not have made it to every single practice on time!  The commitment alone was a challenge.  Then, we were faced with the difficult task of being on a losing team and explaining time after time that as long as you are getting better every week and having fun, it doesn't matter what the scoreboard says.  Some weeks that was a very difficult conversation with our 7 year old.  But, the last game of the season put it all in perspective.  They lost, but Carson had a great tackle!  We finally saw a glimpse of the huge potential this little boy has.  Carson absolutely LOVES football.  He watches it on TV every day, looks forward to practice, asks Jason to practice with him in the backyard and always encourages his teammates.  These qualities coupled with Carson's size and frame may just be the foundation of what he can be one day.  We are so proud of Carson and look forward to watching him play as long as he wants to!

Carson's Awards

Jason and I are always so proud of our kids.  However, this week we got a big surprise that made us especially proud of Carson.  We received a letter from the Comal ISD Superintendent stating that Carson had been chosen Comal ISD Superintendent's Student of the Month for October 2012!  What an honor!  Carson was chosen not only for is academic excellence, but for his perfect attendance, good behavior, and outstanding citizenship.  I know how special Carson is, but when others recognize how great of a kid he is, it makes my heart overjoyed with pride.

In addition, Carson was chosen firecracker of the week by his second grade teacher!  Jason and I knew beforehand and we were able to go to the Friday morning celebration and see him get is award in front of the entire school.  What a great week for Carson!  Congratulations baby, keep up the great work.  Mom and Dad love you so much!
