On July 16, 2019 our family flew out of LAX to different destinations. Jason, Kennedi, and Cade flew home to San Antonio and Carson and I flew to Indianapolis, Indiana for him to compete with SFS Select team in the US Open Championship. We arrived in Indiana tired and hungry. We took an uber to our hotel and crashed early.
July 17 - 1st day of the US Open Championships in Indiana. Tough loss to some really big guys. But SFS doesn't give up easily. Back at it tomorrow!

David Jones Select 16U team wins 84-64 over 757 Elite out of Virginia! Excellent comeback mid-game with all-out play, heads in the game, and tough defense down to the buzzer!

Today was a tough day on the basketball court. But we got to visit Notre Dame! It was an amazing experience for the boys. I can't believe they will be Freshmen and Sophomores next year. College decisions will be upon us before we know it. Thank you to Tom Sessi for a great tour!
July 20, 2019 - Well, the tournament didn't go as planned. But, many times losses build character and teach lessons. Carson played well and grew as a player. That's the point - to improve and develop every day - on and off the court. I love this boy and his love for basketball! Some of the team headed back tonight, but we decided to stick to the original plan and fly out tomorrow night from Chicago. Carson, Bryson, Zayden, and Pat attended a clinic at the Indiana Pacers training facility and we ended the night with famous hot dogs. No complaints here!

We are headed home today, but our flight is out of Chicago. Carson and I left home on July 5th, so we are more than ready. The 4 hour drive from Indianapolis to Chicago wasn't bad. Then, we toured Chicago for the afternoon and ate deep-dish pizza. SFS is great about mixing in travel and culture with basketball. Even though the weather was a bit rainy, it was fun to visit the Windy City!
